Red Ribbon Week

This week was Red Ribbon Week so we had some crazy days.  We started this new incentive this year called Spirit Sticks, where kids earn them for different accomplishments.  Here's a pic
Most of our students haven't earned this many yet (I have alot because I am trying to promote good behavior choices) - part of the job being the assistant principal. They are so excited about them....(shhhh so are the teachers).  Our kids have their nine weeks awards tomorrow where many of them will earn an honor roll, perfect attendance, and excellence in behavior spirit sticks.

I've been working on a new activity for math tubs/centers called Math Wizards.  It's focus is on riddles that make students apply their vocabulary.  I am also making another Math Wizards for all my primary teachers, which focuses on number bonds and the left-to-right method with pictorial, number, and word form.

Leaving you tonight with a pic from nerd day today

Have a great Friday!

Our PTA helps us with our spirit sticks. We also ask for class sponsors. Our goal is $250 per class. This money goes to our spirit sticks and for our school store merchandise. We recognize these sponsors at all our award ceremonies, on newsletters, and web pages.
